EXPERIMENTAL TYPE

Having researched typefaces and letterforms from earlier centuries, examples of existing experimental typefaces were collated and the use of various elements such as eyes, stems and apexes within a letter formation were analysed. Using objects collected from outside several different types were created; experimenting with food, jewellery, the environment, pencils and fingers. This example is made up of twenty-six images, some rotated or reflected and manipulated to fit the chosen letter within the alphabet. This project was particularly enjoyable as it allowed me to use my photography knowledge to create an unusual and interesting typeface.
