As part of a university brief, I explored BBC’s Make It Digital month, and I focused particularly on ‘How do Algorithms affect my life?’ When researching what a algorithm is, I found that the NHS Organ Donor Register now uses algorithms to match kidney donors to possible matches. I found through my research that donations made are significantly low within the age group 18-25 year olds. To gain the interest and attention of this age range, I have created an interactive concertina leaflet, where one of the kidneys can be pushed out to be shared with friends. The shape of the leaflet is also a big one, to push across the message that one kidney donation is enough and thats all it takes to help save a life. The front side of the leaflet produces the key facts to skim read whilst the other side gives more detailed information on kidney donation.
