For this brief, a style of photography had to be selected to create four final outcomes. Having chosen to experiment with still life, I initially started photographing the traditional flowers and vase scene; however following some research, I particularly liked how photographer Robert Mapplethorpe captured a single orchid lily, concentrating on individual petals within that flower. Following this, I then pulled the flowers apart and arranged the parts in four different compositions. The colours are vibrant and small details such as the curled leaves and shadows are showcased; the colours and contrasts in light and shade make these images interesting.
